Hi, my name is Louise.

I’m originally from South Africa and have lived in Ireland, Taiwan, and China, but I now call Australia home. Living in different parts of the world has shaped the way I see stories, language, and people, and it’s given me a deep appreciation for diverse voices and perspectives.

I hold a degree in Professional Writing and Publishing, with a background in both marketing and education. These experiences have helped me understand how stories connect with readers, and how language can be shaped to suit different audiences and purposes.

As a fiction editor, I believe readers enter a story through lines of text. When those lines are clear, natural, and true to the author’s voice, the story can really come alive. I take great pleasure in refining language so it flows smoothly, feels authentic, and resonates with the reader.

My approach to editing is collaborative, respectful, and detail-focused. I aim to support authors in strengthening their work while preserving what makes their voice unique. Whether it’s smoothing the prose, clarifying structure, or ensuring consistency, my goal is always the same: to help the story shine.

I value clear communication, honesty, and a positive working relationship. Editing should feel like a partnership—one that leaves the manuscript stronger and the author more confident.
